**Giveaway is now closed, congrats to the winner, Natalie B!! **
When I learned that I would be sent a product called The Noggle for review, I’m certain I had the same reaction anyone would when first hearing the word. ”What is a Noggle, and what does it have to do with Child Passenger Safety?” Off to google I went, and was directed to the company’s website http://www.nogglenation.com.
The Noggle is a simple, yet pretty inventive way to get air flow to the back row or rows in any vehicle. Getting it was perfectly timed for us, as we’re on a month long summer road trip with several stops, and it’s been HOT!
The Noggle shipped to me quickly, so I set about unboxing and getting it ready to go. The box came with an 8 ft. Noggle, 2 vent adapters, and 2 heavy duty fasteners similar to zip ties. Installation is quick and relatively simple.
The first step is to choose which vent adapters you need for your vehicle. Next, you take the included fasteners, fold them over, insert into the vent you want to use, then tighten them around the vent and the adapter. Once that is done, you twist the end of the Noggle to the “locked” position to secure it in place. That’s it. Easy, and it took less than 5 minutes. Always make sure that you disconnect the Noggle from the vent adapter when you have reached your destination and are leaving the vehicle. Heat and direct sunlight magnified by a vehicle’s windshield could cause the plastic of the Noggle and the vent adapter to warp from the extreme heat. Taking the 5 seconds to make sure you disconnect the Noggle prevents your Noggle from turning into a noodle!
All that’s left is to turn on your air conditioner, and figure out where you want the air to go. It works the same way with the heat in wintertime, so long as heat comes out of the vent you are using. The opposite end of the Noggle has a series of fabric loops and can be secured to any stationary point in your vehicle with a provided velcro strap.
I noticed a difference almost immediately. After I installed our Noggle for the very first time, we had to drive 2 hours to our next destination. When I opened the back hatch of my vehicle, I could feel how cool the third row of the vehicle was. I had never been able to before. By this point, I was thoroughly impressed!
I’m certain there are a few of you asking, “What about the risk of it becoming a projectile in a crash?” I had those thoughts as well before I actually had the Noggle in my hands. After spending a significant amount of time installing the Noggle in various positions, and manipulating it in several different paths throughout my vehicle, those concerns are gone. The Noggle is secured very well on either end, and the lightweight material that makes up the hose has no more weight to it than a pool noodle. The fabric sleeve that covers the Noggle takes care of any edges being exposed.
After having three children VERY happy about the Noggle, I gave it a try myself after a particularly hot day of installing car seats. Very impressive!
Another great thing about the Noggle is their customer service. I’ve had many conversations with the people behind the Noggle, and they were very willing to answer any questions promptly. Even if they were silly questions on my part.
In conclusion, I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with our Noggle experience, and as a CPST, wouldn’t have any reservations recommending this great product to parents. The Noggle can now be purchased on a Rafflecopter giveaway
