At CSFTL, our mission is to help caregivers keep their Littles safe on every ride. To further that goal, we’re pleased to announce that we’re now able to offer a limited number of car seats and booster seats through the CSFTL Car Seat Grant Program.
This exciting new grant program offers a limited number of car seats and booster seats to anyone who routinely transports children ranging in age from birth to 12 years of age. Our focus is on helping small, often volunteer-staffed organizations that may transport groups of unrelated children, such as home daycares or scouting organizations.
Due to this program’s limited scope, we’re not able to provide car seats to individuals at this time. Individual caregivers may be able to find some help by reaching out to some of the resources listed in our article: http://csftl.org/resources-for-free-and-reduced-price-seats/
While there are resources available for free and low cost car seats, most of those programs focus on families transporting their own children. Our grant program is intended to fill the gap and supply age appropriate car seats and booster seats to caregivers who fall outside of that restriction.
How it Works
If you are a Cub Scout or Girl Scout leader, if you run an at home day care or an after-school program, if you run a secular or religious youth group, or any similar program and you have children in your care between the ages of birth and 12, we may be able to help you get the right types of car seats for your group. If your organization is chosen to receive a CSFTL Seat Grant, We’ll also connect you with a local CPST to help you get started.
The CSFTL Seat Grant Program offers the opportunity to own brand new, age and size appropriate restraints for your targeted age group, all the way from infants to pre-teens. Everyone who receives this grant will receive personal, hands on instruction in adjusting, installing, and using the brand new restraints in your own vehicle(s) by our sponsored CSFTL technicians.
For now, the grant program is open to residents of the 48 contiguous United States. We apologize to our friends in Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada and are hopeful that we may be able to expand the program in the future.
If your application is approved, we will work with you to determine the correct types of seats for each child in your care. We’re not limited to any specific brands or seats, so our Seat Grant Team will work with you to determine the right types of seats for your situation and order them for you.
