Columbus Trading-Partners USA, Inc. (CTP) is recalling certain Cybex models of Aton, Aton Q, Aton M, Aton 2, and Cloud Q rear-facing infant seats due to an issue with the hex bar that adjusts the harness webbing.
The Issue
Columbus Trading-Partners USA, Inc. (the manufacturer of Cybex seats) is recalling the following rear-facing only infant seats due to the crotch buckle hex bar design causing fraying to the harness strap webbing, weakening the strength of it:

- Production dates: March 8, 2019 – November 1, 2020
- CYBEX Aton
- Production dates: March 29, 2017 – January 4, 2020

Issue
Columbus Trading-Partners USA, Inc. (CTP) is recalling certain Cybex models Aton, Aton Q, Aton M, Aton 2, and Cloud Q rear-facing infant seats. Please refer to CTP’s recall report for specific model details. The webbing design for the central seat belt adjuster allows it to fray, reducing the seat belt’s strength. As such, these infant seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 213, “Child Restraint Systems” and 209, “Seatbelt Assemblies.”
Remedy
