Installation

The B-Safe has push button lower anchor connectors and a seat belt lock-off, so whether your vehicle has LATCH or not, it makes for a simple installation. The recline foot has multiple adjustments, making it easy to get the proper recline angle in your vehicle. There is an easy to read level indicator on the base to help ensure that the angle is correct.

A few quirks regarding installation: the recline foot can be a bit sticky to switch between positions (and my fingers have been a casualty of pinching more than a few times, ouch!), and the seat belt lock-off can take a little doing to get securely fastened. Other than those minor things, B-Safe installation is generally a breeze.

The B-Safe can also be used without the base. First, detach the little elastic bands that secure the cover near the carry handle hinge, and pull up the cover to expose the guides. Then simply run the lap portion of the belt through the guides, engage the seat belt’s locking function, and tighten.

The B-Safe allows the carry handle in any locked position while in the vehicle, and takes up a small amount of front to back space compared to many infant seats, making it a good choice for small vehicles.

The B-Safe bottom  harness position measures 5.5″, making it a good bet that the straps will fall properly at or below a small newborn, or preemie’s, shoulders. Our Huggable Images preemie and newborn dolls both fit nicely in the seat. The chest clip is rather wide-set and may push the straps to the edges of a very small newborn’s shoulders, however.

The B-Safe comes with a newborn insert which is creased at the bottom and can be set under the child’s bottom to ensure a good fit for a small baby, and then can be moved up behind the child as they grow. There is no weight or height restriction on the insert, it can be used or removed at the parent’s discretion as long as the child fits correctly with/without it. There are also two crotch buckle positions, the buckle must be moved to the outer position once the child weighs 11 lbs.

With lots of great easy to use features, ample growing room, and a moderate price point, the B-Safe is an excellent option for any family with a new Little on the way!
