The Issue
Kiddy has announced a recall for some of their Kiddy World Plus combination seats. On the affected seats, the buckle on the shield may not fully engage, meaning that a parent or caregiver might think the child was properly buckled into the seat when she was not.
Update as of 6/18/16: Kiddy is advising parents to send the seat back to them for a full refund, including shipping costs. This is regardless of mode used.
Next Steps
Please contact Kiddy at 1-855-92-KIDDY and speak with a customer service representative. Do NOT return the seat to a retailer. Kiddy will send or email a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the seat. When the seat is received by Kiddy, a refund will be issued for the seat and packing costs (keep your receipt when buying the box and supplies).
Note: There are different recall dates listed by NHTSA and Kiddy. NHTSA indicates that this recall affects seats manufactured from July 2, 2012 to October 5, 2013. Kiddy indicates that this recall affects seats manufactured from February 1, 2012 to May 1, 2013. You can find the date of manufacture on a sticker on the bottom of your seat. We advise ALL owners of the Kiddy World Plus to contact Kiddy directly.
