RECARO ProSPORT
NHSTA has issued a recall on certain models of RECARO ProSport manufactured from June 16 2010 to January 31 2013. If the ProSport is installed with lower anchors only, the head excursion in testing exceeds max allowed limits, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.
Car Seats for the Littles, Inc. notes that no forward facing harnessed seat should be used without the tether connector secured to an approved tether anchor.
This is not a life safety recall and your seat can continue to be used. The ‘fix’ is a new label to be affixed over the current label on the seat and an updated manual indicating that use of lower anchors should be discontinued when the child reaches a weight of 40 pounds.
