Action Required
Immediately discontinue the use of lower anchors. Owners may continue to use their car seat with the base or with shell only when secured using the vehicle belt restraint system, consistent with the existing instruction booklet and labels. A free replacement base will be sent to the owners once available. Your seat must be registered to be eligible.
Note to onBoard SecureTech owners: the baseless recline angle indicator is embossed on the seat itself. There is a label pointing to it but the actual indicator is that line, please refer to that line if you install your car seat without the base while waiting for this recall remedy.
Safety Risk:
A detached car seat may not properly restrain the child, increasing the risk of injury or death in a crash.

NHTSA Campaign Number: 23C002000
Manufacturer: Dorel Juvenile Group (Safety 1st and Maxi Cosi)
Category: Child Seat
Potential Number of Units Affected: 59,450
Original Recall Date: 3/3/2023
Issue:
Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Safety 1st onBoard 35 Secure Tech, Maxi-Cosi Coral XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP Max, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe+, and Maxi-Cosi Infant Base child seats.
