Transport Canada has issued a recall on certain manufacture dates for the Diono Radian 3QX multimode car seat.  This recall does not impact versions of this seat that were made for use in the United States.

The Issue

Certain child seats may not meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations when installed in a rear-facing position using the universal anchorage system (UAS).

Certain child seats may not meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations when installed in a rear-facing position using the universal anchorage system (UAS).

Safety Risk:
A child seat that doesn’t meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Diono advises that you may continue to use the seat in a rear-facing position if you install it using the vehicle seat belt. Diono will notify registered owners in writing.

You should contact Diono to obtain a free remedy kit that includes a foam insert and instructions for how to install it.
