Jané Montecarlo R1 Review

Posted on October 15, 2014

For those who have been around the car seat world long enough, Jané is a familiar name. In 2003, Jané brought boosters with lower anchor capability to the US. Jané has been quiet for a while in the car seat world though, in the US anyways. They introduced the Montecarlo R1 to their European market and just now brought it here to the US. Let’s see what this new seat has to offer.

Cosco Pronto/Safety 1st Crossover Review

Posted on October 10, 2014

Why do children keep growing? I’m guessing so I can keep buying seats. Our newest addition is the Cosco Pronto (also found as the Safety 1st Crossover). With the seat belt geometry of our van, my 10-year-old needs a high back booster still in the third row. He was pushing the height limit of his

Posted on October 6, 2014
Graco Contender

Graco has a few convertible seats that we find ourselves recommending on a fairly regular basis. They’re all basically the same seat: The Size4Me, MySize and Fit4Me and the similar Head Wise. These seats all have a long-lasting range of fit to child; they rear face until the child’s head is within one inch of the top of the red handle at the headrest — when that headrest is fully extended.

Posted on September 19, 2014

Parents always worry if their child is in their harnessed seat correctly. Is the harness at the right height? Properly tightened? Chest clip on the chest? No one thinks about boosters much though. Put kid in, buckle, and go. Many boosters are used incorrectly though and in turn do not provide the proper protection.

CPS Week 2014 Noggle Giveaway-ENDED

Posted on September 18, 2014
The Noggle

An important part of child passenger safety is recognizing that we want everyone to follow best practice, but we also want everyone to travel comfortably. Keeping back seat passengers cool or warm, depending on the season, can be a real challenge. CSFTL recommends kids ride rear facing as long as possible, ideally until 3-4 years old. Getting appropriate air flow to rear facing Littles is not always easy, even if your vehicle has rear air vents.

Harmony Dreamtime Review

Posted on September 17, 2014

The Harmony Dreamtime, one of Harmony’s multiple belt positioning options, serves a niche market in that is one of the few high back boosters still available that may be an acceptable option in a three across, due to its narrow lines and plumb sides. While it doesn’t have the bells and whistles of many of the market’s more showy options, it is affordable, and provides an excellent belt fit in high back and backless mode, and as such, does what it is needed to do.
