Harmony Juvenile Products wishes to inform the public about a product update for certain Harmony Optyma 3-in-1 Deluxe car seats. While the seats were originally manufactured with the harness straps properly installed, internal testing by Harmony Juvenile Products identified that a user could inadvertently reposition the harness straps incorrectly on the splitter plate. Specifically, if the straps are positioned without covering the opening on the splitter plate, they can potentially loosen or become unsecured from the splitter plate.
To eliminate the possibility of incorrectly positioning the harness straps, Harmony Juvenile Products has developed an elastic sleeve to be placed on the splitter plate. This change has been made for all new production seats. For all current Optyma car seat owners, Harmony Juvenile Products will provide an update kit which includes an elastic sleeve and installation instructions.
What owners should do:
All registered Optyma car seat owners will receive a free update kit that contains an elastic sleeve and step-by-step installation instructions.
Owners of affected child car seats who are not registered with Harmony Juvenile Products or consumers who have moved should contact the company customer service department:
By telephone at 1-877-306-1001
By email at [email protected]
Owners should have the date of manufacture and serial number from the car seat along with their complete mailing address when they contact the company. The model number, the serial number and the date of manufacture can be found on a label on the underside of the child car seat.
