We took our first flight with a Little when my oldest daughter was 5 months old. Many nights before our flight took off, I lay awake, stressing about logistics. I was new to installing car seats, to that point, I’d only installed seats under the watchful eye of a CSPT friend. I wasn’t sure I could install her seat correctly in a strange car all by myself.
Though booster seats don’t have as many moving parts as a harnessed car seat, there’s a large range of features and fit on the market. Choosing the right one can be a real challenge! For my booster rider, we need a booster that’s fairly padded and has a high top shoulder belt guide position since my kiddo is fairly tall and quite slim.

Graco has a few convertible seats that we find ourselves recommending on a fairly regular basis. They’re all basically the same seat: The Size4Me, MySize and Fit4Me and the similar Head Wise. These seats all have a long-lasting range of fit to child; they rear face until the child’s head is within one inch of the top of the red handle at the headrest — when that headrest is fully extended.
