The Newell Baby Moments That Matter Event took place in NYC on October 25, 2018. It was just a quick subway ride from my house so I was able to spend some time checking out exciting new products from Graco and Baby Jogger and still make it to school pickup on time!
Here’s a peek at some of what’s coming in 2019 from Graco & Baby Jogger:
ProtectPlusTM Engineered Car Seats
Graco has added both Rollsafe Testing Standard (based on the European rollover testing procedures) as well as rear-impact testing (based on the European standard rear-impact crash pulse) to their crash testing.
It will be available on these models in January 2019: SnugRide SnugLock 35 LX, SnugRide SnugLock 35 DLX, SlimFit Platinum, 4Ever DLX, 4Ever DLX Platinum, Nautilus SnugLock, and TurboBooster Grow.

Graco has updated the well loved 4Ever multimode car seat with some new softgoods (aka the cover), ProtectPlus Engineering, and several brand new features that we’re pretty excited about!

The Rapid Remove cover and Fuss Free harness storage make the seat easier to use, while my favorite new feature – an integrated forward facing belt lockoff – makes installation with the vehicle seat belt even easier. The price point will still be $299.99 and it will be available for preorders in December 2018, with a release date of January 2019.

Graco has taken the TurboBooster we recommend regularly, added ProtectPlus and given us an intriguing third mode – the RightGuide Portable Seat Belt Trainer.
Graco Turbo Grow Seat Belt Trainer
This is a portable, slim booster which pops out of the seat and can be used for children who weigh between 50-120 pounds.

You can use each mode for one child or have a spare seat handy all the time for spontaneous playdates! The RightGuide comes with a shoulder belt guide adjuster that’s attached to the seat in a convenient storage spot on the bottom.
Baby Jogger City Grow 2 & City Grow Air
Baby Jogger showed me not one but two new rear facing only car seats at the event. These are both expected on store shelves in mid 2019. The base will have an integrated anti-rebound bar, an integrated lower anchor storage compartment and will feature RAPIDLOCKTM Belt Tensioning Installation Technology for a super easy installation. The bases are cross compatible and will retail for $129.
The City Grow 2 will have a no rethread harness, a silent shade canopy (it really is super quiet!), soft grip handle, and upgraded soft goods. It will retail for $289.
BabyJogger City Grow Air drape
The City Grow Air weighs in at under 7.8 pounds and features a moisture wicking insert, the silent shade canopy with a breathable drape extension, soft grip handle, and upgraded soft goods. These extra features will increase the retail price to $349.
Both seats will have the taxi safe European seat belt routing that’s found on the current version of the City Go.

We’re always impressed by the number of great car seats and booster seats that our friends at Graco and Baby Jogger have to offer. After a year where they’ve introduced a number of great options, we are so impressed that even here at the year’s end, they’ve got more tricks up their sleeve!
