RECARO Child Safety and Transport Canada wish to inform the public of a non-compliance involving certain Performance RIDE restraint systems. The date of manufacture on the side of the child restraint was misprinted and may be inconsistent with normal date formats.

Simple Parenting’s Doona rear facing only car seat/stroller made quite a splash when it was announced. We couldn’t wait to get our hands on one to see if it was worth the hype! First, a kind parent allowed us to take a close look at their baby’s Doona during a seat check; then we were able to look even closer (and admire the variety of pretty colors that are available!) during the ABC Kids Expo.
Since 2009, the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety), has been annually releasing their booster ratings, based primarily on fit of the 6 year old dummy, and, as we all know, fit is the best indication of performance. No matter how much bling your booster has, if it doesn’t place the seatbelt properly on your child, it can’t do its job.
Hauck is a well-known German company with about a century of experience making baby gear. We met Hauck at ABC Kids Expo in 2014, and were happy to see them at Kidz in Motion this past August as well. After selling strollers in the US for a short while, Hauck recently released a completely new rear facing only seat here in the United States.

Our final full day at the ABC Kids Expo dawned bright and early but we missed that part of the day thanks to our evening as high rollers at the casino.
We should stick to car seats.
Our second day at the ABC Kids Expo was mostly a foray into the world of rear facing only seats, with some combination seats and boosters thrown in for good measure. We also started increasing the sizes of the coffee drinks we’re consuming to combat our fatigue.
